Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your sleep study device correctly
Unbox and Check Your Kit
Open your sleep study kit and verify all components are present: the NOX device, chest strap, finger sensor (pulse oximeter), nasal cannula, and any additional accessories. If anything is missing or damaged, contact us immediately.
Charge the Device (If Needed)
Check the device battery level. If the battery indicator shows low charge, connect the device to its charger. A full charge ensures uninterrupted recording throughout the night.
Position the Chest Strap
Place the chest strap around your chest, just below your armpits. The strap should be snug but comfortable - you should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your skin. The device unit should sit in the centre of your chest.
Attach the Finger Sensor
Place the pulse oximeter on your index or middle finger of your non-dominant hand. Ensure the sensor sits flat against your fingernail. The cable should run along the top of your hand and be secured with the provided tape to prevent it from slipping off during sleep.
Connect the Nasal Cannula
Insert the nasal prongs gently into your nostrils. Loop the tubing over your ears and adjust the slider under your chin for a comfortable fit. The cannula monitors your breathing patterns throughout the night.
Turn On and Verify Recording
Press the power button on the device. Wait for the indicator lights to confirm the device is recording. You should see steady lights indicating that all sensors are functioning correctly. If any warning lights appear, refer to the troubleshooting section or contact us.
Go to Sleep Naturally
Once everything is set up and the device is recording, simply go to sleep as you normally would. Try to sleep in your usual position. The device will automatically record your sleep data throughout the night.
